MOSCOW, February 26 (RIA Novosti) - 64 billion rubles (over $2 billion) have been invested in reconstruction of the Chechen republic over the past four years, presidential envoy in the Southern Federal District Dmitry Kozak said in his interview with RIA Novosti.

Unfortunately, according to him, it is impossible today to make an accurate estimate of the financial support required for reconstruction of Chechnya.

"At present, efforts are being made to produce such an estimate; however, the efficacy of investments into the republic to date has proved to be inadequate," Kozak said.

The presidential envoy took part in the seminar `Role of Civil Society in Ensuring Social Stability in North Caucasus` which was held on the premises of RIA Novosti on Saturday in attendance of representatives of the Presidential Administration, federal Ministers, and Chechnya leadership as well as delegates of various civic and political associations of the republic.
