WASHINGTON, February 12 (RIA Novosti's Arkady Orlov) -Oil company Yukos filed a legal claim Friday against Gazprom, Gazpromneft, Baikal Finance Group and Rosneft, seeking "over $20 billion" in damages, the embattled company's press-release issued in Houston, Texas says.

The document states that the claim has been filed against the above companies "for their role in expropriation of Yuganskneftegaz (Yukos's core production unit registered in the town of Nefteyugansk, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District in West Siberia) in December 2004" in contravention of a restraining order issued by a US court, prohibiting any operations with Yukos assets pending consideration of the oil company's bankruptcy claim.

The press release also states that Yukos "is upholding" its earlier claim against Deutsche Bank. At the same time, the new action for damages filed by Yukos on Thursday contains no mention of the German bank.

Another press release, also issued in Houston, says that on Friday Yukos handed over its "reorganization plan" to the bankruptcy district court of Southern Texas. The plan outlines the company's program for completion of the bankruptcy proceedings as well as for "a fair dialogue with creditors, shareholders and the Russian Government".

Yukos has also lodged a request demanding that May 1, 2005 be set as a deadline for filing complaints against the oil company to be considered by the bankruptcy court.

Separately, Yukos entered one more motion on Friday, requesting the US court "to re-send any claims that might be brought against it by the Russian Government to an international arbitration forum".
