These figures are circulated by the Yuri Levada Analytical Center (Levada Center). They come from the representative poll of 2,307 Russians over 16 years of age held last January.
For comparison's sake, Muscovites have noticeably more such gadgets than on an average in Russia: 95 percent of Muscovites have home telephones, 51 percent mobile phones and every third Muscovite (35 percent) has a computer.
The poll also found that 16 percent of Russians use personal computers - at home, work or somewhere else - actually every day, while for Moscow the figure is 31 percent.
Five percent of the Russians turn to the computer approximately once a week, 7 percent of Muscovites do so. On an average, it is 2 percent country-wide and in Moscow who do it two to three times a month. About one percent of the polled said they use the computer once a month, or less often.
Seventy four percent of the polled country-wide and 60 percent in Moscow said they never use a computer.
