RUSSIAN-PAKISTANI CONSULTATIONS ON COUNTER-TERRORISM IN ISLAMABAD

MOSCOW, December 21 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislyak discussed in Pakistan the fight against international terrorism and bilateral cooperation in different spheres, said the Information and Press Department of the Foreign Ministry.

Mr. Kislyak headed the Russian delegation at the second session of the Russian-Pakistani consultative group for strategic stability in Islamabad on December 20-21.

"The sides considered a wide range of issues, including, counter-terrorism, non-proliferation, and bilateral cooperation in many spheres," the department reported.

According to the Foreign Ministry, "the sides expressed satisfaction with the important discussion and common positions on a number of issues on the agenda".

The next session of the Russian-Pakistani consultative group for strategic stability will take place in Moscow in mid-2005.
