KIEV, December 4 (RIA Novosti) - The Ukrainian opposition refused to let deputies leave the Supreme Rada building.

Several thousands of opposition supporters have been picketing the building since morning. They are very displeased with the parliament's failure to make any decisions today.

The crowd is scanning "Do not let them go!", "Keep working!", "Parasites!"

The opposition supporters are in a very resolute mood but they have not come to the use of force yet.

On Saturday the deputies of the Ukrainian Supreme Rada failed to achieve accord on the amendments to the Constitution and electoral legislation.

The pro-presidential factions insisted on the adoption of a package of relevant bills.

However, the opposition representatives refused to vote for this.

Yulia Timoshenko reminded the parliamentarians once again that Viktor Yushchenko had signed the agreement stipulating that the voting on the political reform should take place before January 1, 2005, i.e. after the new presidential elections.

The Supreme Rada speaker closed the parliamentary session and appointed the next meeting for December 14.

The amendments to the Constitution imply the transfer of most presidential authorities to the cabinet of ministers. In compliance with the amendments, he Prime Minister will be appointed by parliament. Accordingly, Ukraine will turn into a parliamentary-presidential republic.
