* Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov will start a two-day visit to Bulgaria.

MOSCOW

* Italian Deputy Prime Minister Gianfranco Fini will arrive in Moscow on a two-day visit. He is to meet with his Russian counterpart Alexander Zhukov.

* The Federation Council will host a round table on 2005 budget formation of state-run non-budgetary funds held by the upper house's committee on social policy.

* The Russian State Duma will host:

- a session of the State Duma Council;

- parliamentary hearings on federal and local elections in 2002-2004 and prospects of the development of election legislation;

- a press conference with State Duma Vice Speaker, chairman of People's Will national revival party Sergei Baburin who was an independent observer at the parliamentary elections and referendum in Belarus;

- a roundtable on the media's role in the protection of people's physical and mental health from the consequences of terrorist acts and the legal aspect of this problem.

* The 4th two-day scientific-practical conference on the forecasts of emergency situations will open in Moscow. Representatives of the Russian Interior Ministry, Defense Ministry, Emergencies Ministry, Transportation Ministry, Health and Social Development Ministry, Education and Science Ministry, Ministry of Natural Resources, Agriculture Ministry and other interested departments will participate in the conference.

* The 2nd all-Russia Azeri Congress will open in Moscow. Azerbaijan's President Ilkham Aliyev, representatives of the state authorities and public organizations of Russia and Azerbaijan are invited to the event.

* Chairman of the federal agency for physical culture, sports and tourism Vyacheslav Fetisov will give a press conference on the problems and prospects of tourism in Russia.

The Izvestia media-center will host the following press conferences:

- "Belarus after the referendum. Political consequences" with State Secretary of the Russia-Belarus Union Pavel Borodin and international observer Ivan Makushok;

- "The situation on the market of periodicals and the strategy of its development" with head of the federal agency for press and mass communications Mikhail Seslavinsky.

* The Russian Information Agency Novosti and the PRIME-TASS economic information agency will hold a round table on the development of the system of deposit insurance in Russia.

* Transneft President Semyon Vainshtok will give a press conference.

* Moscow will host a press conference on the results of the Russian national team in the 2006 World Cup qualifiers and on the Russian football championship of Premier League clubs. Participating will be President of the Russian Football Union Vyacheslav Koloskov and President of the Football referees' Board Nikolai Levnikov.

ST. PETERSBURG

* Slovak Foreign Minister Eduard Kukan will visit St. Petersburg as part of his routine visit to Russia. He will be handed a diploma of an honorary professor of the faculty of international relations of St. Petersburg State University.

* The Orthodox Russia 10th exhibition will open in St. Petersburg. Over 300 dioceses, monasteries, churches, Orthodox publishers, media, educational establishments, artistic workshops, pilgrim services, restorers, icon-painters and craftsmen from 55 Russian, Belarussian and Ukrainian cities will participate in the event.

MURMANSK

* The Federation Council committee for defense and security will hold a visiting session on the topic "The Russian Navy in the system of Russia's National Security: condition and problems of legal provision".

BAKU

* Head of RAO Unified Energy Systems of Russia Anatoly Chubais will preside at the 26th regular two-day session of the Electric Energy Council. Heads of CIS electric energy management bodies and council's observers will participate in the session.

YALTA, CRIMEA, UKRAINE

* The three-day international business meeting Euromarket Forum Ukraine-2004 will open in Yalta. Representatives of the Crimean government and parliament, the European Market Research Center, and the Russian State Duma will consider potential possibilities of the Crimea and Ukraine on the whole and will discuss priority investment spheres.

CHISINAU

* Days of Russian Literature and Spirituality (October 19-24) will open in Moldova. Russian and Moldovan writers and literature teachers will participate in the event.

THE HAGUE - PRAGUE

* Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will discuss preparations for the November Russia-EU summit with the EU Troika. After that, he will head for Prague on a three-day routine visit.

GENEVA

* The official celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the European Organization for Nuclear Research will be held in Geneva. French President Jacques Chirac, King Juan Carlos of Spain and Switzerland's President Joseph Deiss are expected to participate in the ceremony. Russian Education and Science Minister Andrei Fursenko and head of the Russian atomic energy agency Alexander Rumyantsev will represent Russia having the status of observer at this organization.

PYLOS, GREECE

The Azov large landing ship of the Black Sea fleet will arrive in Greece on a friendly visit (October 19-31). Its crew will participate in the celebrations of the Battle of Pylos.
