KABUL, October 10 (RIA Novosti) - Head of the mission of OSCE observers Robert Berry believes the elections in Afghanistan were perfectly organized.

He made the statement before journalists on Sunday.

Commenting on requirements by 15 presidential candidates that the elections should be acknowledged as rigged and should be repeated, the official described the allegations as "legally unjustified."

"There is a definite procedure to consider appeals. These are submitted to a mixed commission for elections. 15 candidates appealed to the commission, so a thorough investigation into the matter will be carried out in the near future," Robert Berry remarked.

He admitted certain irregularities during the elections. However, Mr. Berry continued, these irregularities were of a technical, circumstantial character. "It was impossible to foresee everything," the chief observer said. Anyway, the elections were a success, and we can congratulate the Afghan people," he underlined.
