MOSCOW, September 28 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Foreign Ministry hopes that a regular sitting of the Russian-American antiterrorism working group will be held "before the end of this year and, on rotation, gather in Moscow", the Press and Information Board of the Russian Foreign Ministry communique reads.

"The group has proved to be an efficient body for bilateral cooperation in this sphere", the Foreign Ministry says.

Having had eleven sittings, the group considers key matters of Russian-American antiterrorist interaction, as well as other aspects in opposing new threats and challenges.

"We hope that fruitful Russian-American partnership in the field of opposing the threat of international terrorism will be further developed", the ministerial commentary reads.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislyak will lead the Russian side of the group, the Press and Information Board of the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

Until recently, the Russian co-chairman was First Deputy Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Trubnikov. Together with his American colleague Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, Trubnikov "has ensured successful shaping of bilateral partner-like interaction against terrorism", the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

"Since Trubnikov has been appointed the Russian ambassador to India, the Russian side of the working group will be led by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislyak", the Foreign Ministry says.
