LONDON, September 23 (RIA Novosti's Alexander Smotrov) - A force solution of the Iranian nuclear problem would be a big and unforgivable mistake, ex-President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev told journalists in London.

"We cannot make one mistake after another," he stressed adding that the military operation in Iraq was the first mistake.

"This problem, is its exists, should be solved by political and diplomatic means," the politician said.

He called for more attention to the statements and results of the work of IAEA experts in Iran.

"To make the situation clear we should build new approaches on the dialogue basis and attract the UN and experts," the ex-president noted.

According to him, "viewpoints on the U.S. intentions regarding Iraq differ even in the United States".

Earlier U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell told a press conference in New York that he did not rule out force disarmament of Iran if the country did not give complete information on its nuclear projects before the end of November.
