MOSCOW, September 16 (RIA Novosti) - South Korea must close all issues concerning its experiments on uranium enrichment, said the Russian Foreign Ministry information and press department.

"Russia is interested in the full clarification of the picture and hopes that the Republic of Korea will openly and transparently cooperate with the IAEA to close all questions as regards the true aim of the research conducted," reads a press department statement.

The document notes that Russia paid attention to statements of a DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesperson which question further participation of Pyongyang in the six-sided talks on nuclear disarmament of the Korean peninsula in connection with the revealed facts of uranium-enrichment experiments conducted in South Korea. "At the same time we do not see in them a DPRK principled refusal to participate in the negotiating process," noted the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"We believe that six-sided talks are aimed at resolution of all problems connected with the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, as well as ensuring security of all states situated here," reads the statement. In this connection, Russia speaks for continuation of the six-sided process, as well as for holding a regular round of talks as soon as possible," stresses the Russian Foreign Ministry.
