JERUSALEM/TEL-AVIV, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference in Jerusalem called upon the international community to switch to concrete steps to counter terrorism.

"It requires both tough political positions and specific contacts between special services of the antiterrorism coalition's countries", said Mr. Lavrov.

He emphasized that the situation was too serious to confine ourselves to only appeals.

"It requires specific work based on specific information. Russia is ready to share specific information, and receive such information from its counterparts", noted the Russian minister.

He said that settlement of the Middle East crisis was only possible on a comprehensive basis adopted by all the parties concerned, stated Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a press conference in Jerusalem following the meeting with his Israeli counterpart Silvan Shalom.

In the foreign minister's opinion, such basis may be constituted by the "road map" settlement plan, recognized both by the Israeli and the Palestinians.

Mr. Lavrov believes that the "road map" is still of relevance today. According to him, this is the very context, in which the Russian side sees Israel's withdrawal from Haza, which should be an inalienable part of comprehensive settlement.

The Russian side appreciates the Israeli leadership's resolution to bring the withdrawal from Haza to the end and cooperate with other countries, whose participation in the process may contribute to stabilizing the situation in the region, noted Mr. Lavrov.

He added that regarded within the context of comprehensive settlement in the Middle East was the situation with regard to Lebanon and Syria. The problems existing between Israel and those countries may not be forced out of the general context.

The Russian foreign minister assured that Russia's cooperation with Iran posed no threat to the international community.

"Russia's cooperation with Iran including that in the nuclear sphere is carried out in compliance with the international commitments and under complete supervision of the IAEA and does not pose any threat to the international community", the minister pointed out.

The topic of Russia's cooperation with Iran was discussed during Mr. Lavrov's talks in Israel.
