The draft has gained approval from President Lukashenko, he said.
This agreement will provide legal form to the united regional air defense complex, now operating under the Belarus-Russia Union, Paferov told the press conference.
United regional air defense will be ten years old next year, Paferov said. In his opinion, it can provide an example for similar regional groups of countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
He said that the CIS coalition committee of air defense troops will sit in early September and consider, so far in theory, the formation of united regional air defense complexes in the CIS imitating Belarussian-Russian.
Regarding the supply of S-300 systems to Belarus, Paferov noted that the Belarussian Military-Industrial Committee is now coordinating details of the deal with the Russian side.
He recalled that the Russian supplies will be free but Belarus will pay for repairs. In all, four S-300 systems will be supplied, he added.
As regards the plans of the Belarussian air force to buy new warplanes, he noted that it is planned in 10 to 15 years to renovate the fleet of warplanes, buying new and updated machines.
Paferov also noted that the reform program of the Belarussian air force intends doing everything necessary in view of the increasing NATO military contingent near the Belarussian borders.
