"I don't think it will be necessary for the Georgian parliament to answer the Duma statement. It will be hard to put our reply into polite terms-I find this explanation sufficient," she said, as reported by the Novosti/Georgia news agency.
"The Duma statement on the latest developments was totally ungrounded and perfectly unacceptable. We really want to be polite and stay within parliamentary limits-so we shall keep silent."
The State Duma unanimously passed its controversial statement last Thursday, August 5.
"The Georgian top never stops threatening Russian nationals permanently resident in South Ossetia and Abkhazia [two unrecognised republics in Georgia]. We regard the developments as spearheaded against sovereignty of the Russian Federation," says the statement.
The Georgian conflict is rapidly turning into a big Caucasian military confrontation. Russia may get involved in it with the Georgian top alone to blame. An escalating armed conflict may hit several thousand Russian nationals resident in the Caucasian countries, warns the lower house.
The Duma goes on pondering appeals of the Abkhaz and South Osset parliaments to recognise their countries' right of self-determination, adds the statement.
