THE HAAGUE, July 27 (RIA Novosti) - On Wednesday a Russian warplane will make an observation flight above the Benelux countries and the United Kingdom within the framework of the "open skies" treaty, The Netherlands Defence Ministry reports.

It will be the third flight of a Russian reconnaissance plane above West Europe within the treaty's framework. Now, the plane will film the territory of The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg and the United Kingdom. The film will be developed in the presence of all the parties involved.

It is not only military installations that are observed. Last time, for instance, Russian specialists filmed and mapped The Netherlands' coastline.

The "open skies" treaty, coming into force on January 1, 2002, targets the strengthening of trust between states. The treaty members are mostly European and North American countries. The first flight was made in August 2002.
