UKRAINE TO HELP PERU MODERNIZE AIRCRAFT

RIO DE JANEIRO, July 17 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine will help Peru modernize its air force, in particular, An-32 planes. A relevant agreement was achieved between Ukrainian Industry Minister Alexandr Neustriyev and Peru's Foreign Minister Manuel Rodriguez Cuadros during the latter's official visit to Kiev.

In the near future Ukrainian experts will go to Peru to examine its air fleet, which was once equipped by the Soviet Union and needs repairs today, El Comercio newspaper reported.

The Peruvian minister attended the Antonov aircraft factory and examined planes at the Gostomel air field. Among them were the largest cargo aircraft AN-124-100 Ruslan, An-140 meant for short flights, conversion AN-74TK-300, which can be used for cargo and passenger carriages, and the new An-148 meant for long regional flights.

According to El Comercio, Manuel Rodriguez Cuadros confirmed Peru's interest in the purchase of new Ukrainian planes.
