DUBAI, June 28 (RIA Novosti's Yuri Zinin) - The morale, mood and health of the two Russians accused of murdering Chechen separatist Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev by the Qatari authorities are "normal", a spokesman of the Russian Embassy in Doha, Qatar, said in a phone interview with a RIA Novosti correspondent after the Russian consul had held a regular meeting with the two arrestees in the morning.

The consul talked to the Russians and found out they did not have any complaints concerning their conditions. Their cells are equipped with air conditioners and the temperature is kept normal, which allows standing the summer Arabian heat. They have three meals per day. The food is sufficient and they do not have additional requests in this respect, the spokesman said.

The Qatari authorities allowed bringing the detainees books, cigarettes and some other things.

In the last six weeks the Russian Embassy has managed to make these meetings every week. The Russians have been in detention for over four months.

This is apparently their last meeting with the consul before the verdict is pronounced.

At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, the court hearing will start, which is expected to pronounce the verdict for the case that was launched on April 11.

The Embassy declined to give any forecasts, emphasizing that everything would be known on the day of the trial. The hearing will be attended by the group of Russian lawyers that have defended the accused throughout the trial.

The Qatari prosecutors accuse the Russians on nine counts.

On the night of February 18-19 the Qatari special services arrested three Russian citizens on a working trip in Qatar. They were accused of murdering Yandarbiyev who had been killed in a car explosion on February 14.

One of the detainees, the Russian Embassy's first secretary had diplomatic immunity and was later released and returned home.

The Russian Foreign Ministry is taking steps to release the other two. Moscow has repeatedly insisted on their innocence and demanded that they should be immediately returned home.

The Russian citizens "stayed in Qatar legally and carried out informational and analytical tasks related to fight against international terrorism without any violation of the local legislation," the ministry pointed out.
