MOSCOW, June 13 (RIA Novosti) - Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia had a telephone conversation on Sunday, Russian President's press secretary Alexei Gromov told reporters.

He said the conversation was initiated by Georgia, was constructive, and accounted for various issues of Russian-Georgian relations.

Commentators suggest that one of topics the presidents must have dwelt upon was situation in South Ossetia that once used to be part of Georgia, and then declared independence.

Tbilisi alleges that additional Russian military units and dozens of truckfuls of Russian weapons and ammunition have entered the conflict area recently. The Russian Defense Ministry denies the allegations.
