ISLAMABAD/KIEV, June 12 (RIA Novosti) - Pakistan's President Perwez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali forwarded Russia Day congratulatory messages to Vladimir Putin and Mikhail Fradkov, their Russian counterparts.

President Musharraf heartily greets the Russian president and nation on another adoption anniversary of the Declaration of Russian Sovereignty.

He cherishes the memory of his visit to Moscow, early last year, when the two countries agreed to step up their all-round contacts to both nations' benefit, says APP news agency as it cites the presidential message.

President Musharraf is sure Pakistani-Russian friendly partnership will be ever stronger and closer in many fields with every passing year. He wishes President Putin the best of health and Russia affluence.

President Leonid Kuchma of Ukraine forwarded a congratulatory telegram to President Vladimir Putin, the presidential press service said to Novosti/Ukraine news agency.

"I greet you and your entire nation from the bottom of my heart on Russia Day, a celebration deservedly known as ushering in a new era in Russian history. Ukraine highly appreciates your country's achievements on the road of democratic social reforms as the Russian prestige is growing in the international scene.

"The current stage of our bilateral partnership, I am sure, offers fine prerequisites for ever closer Ukrainian-Russian strategic partnership to enhance its dynamism and constructive content," President Kuchma's message says, in part.
