MOSCOW, June 4 (RIA Novosti) - Georgia called on Russia to establish a joint anti-terror center. A decision is to come up in a package with the one on Russia pulling out its military bases from Georgia. The news is circulated with reference to Salome Zurabishvili, Georgia's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Russia is considering the offer, says Alexander Yakovenko, official spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thus, the matter came up for debate as Georgia's Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania was recently visiting Moscow.

Center prospects are regarded in the context of a tentative bilateral agreement on the performance and pullout deadlines of Russian military bases in Georgia. A network of joint anti-terror centers may be set up to use equipment and facilities, and employ experts to go over to Georgia as the bases are dismantled.

The initiative is only in initial blueprints, and requires thorough work, so it is too early to go into details, remarked Mr. Yakovenko.

Konstantin Kemularia, Georgian Ambassador to Russia, also took up the topic as he was addressing a news conference in Moscow today.

When asked about withdrawal prospects of Russian bases in Batumi, Black Sea coast, and Akhalkalaki near Tbilisi, he said the anti-terror center initiative might speed up the pullout and civilize it.

"We are offering a pioneer idea," stressed the ambassador. The Parties have made a pullout decision in principle, and talks are underway on technicalities, he added.
