MOSCOW, May 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russian deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Fedotov and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Director General Carlos Magarinos discussed the prospects for bilateral interaction, says a Russian foreign ministry press release.

The meeting took place in Vienna within the framework of the 28th session of the UN Industrial Development Board.

"The Russian side expressed satisfaction with the course of implementation of the Russia-UNIDO Cooperation Program for 2003-2005 and interest in additional measures on mobilization of resources for its implementation, including due to more active attraction of the private sector," says the statement.

Mr. Fedotov and Mr. Magarinos exchanged opinions on the most promising trends of bilateral interaction.

Special attention was paid to UNIDO's participation in the cooperation of Russia with developing countries, in particular, as part of the Program of technological cooperation between Russia and Central and Latin American countries.

"Carlos Magarinos, on his part, expressed gratitude to Russia for support it renders to UNIDO, and confirmed his readiness to make additional steps to further deepen and expand bilateral cooperation," the statement runs.
