WARSAW, May 23 (RIA Novosti) - The 49th Warsaw international book fair has justified, and even surpassed the hopes of Russian authors and publishers who were taking part, says Nelly Petkova, program manager, Russia Warsaw Book Fair's Honored Guest.

Timed to the four-day fair was a cultural program, A Rediscovery of Russia. Traffic Club, Cult Club and Warsaw University events were the most attractive among a total seventy.

Visitors found Moscow Municipal Publishers' books of great interest-mainly those on Moscow history, and Alexander Pushkin's life and works. The company is passing all its exhibits to the Warsaw University library after the fair.

The Warsaw book fair is having more visitors than ever. The opening day alone, when only experts were admitted, gathered more than six thousand-and the entire number exceeded thirty thousand, another ten thousand expected on the closing day.

Russia appeared at last year's Frankfurt Book Fair as honored guest, too-and its number of visitors rose by 10 per cent against the average, pointed out Miss Petkova.
