TEHERAN, May 22 (RIA Novosti) - Iran has handed over a comprehensive report on its nuclear programs to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a source in Iran's Atomic Energy Organization told RIA Novosti.

In line with item 2 of the supplementary protocol to the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, which Teheran signed in December last year, and available agreements with the IAEA, Iran's ambassador to the agency has handed over the report, which contains exhaustive information on the country's activities in the nuclear sphere, according to the source.

The Islamic Republic, thereby, demonstrated to the global community its resolve to continue transparent and open cooperation with the IAEA and hopes this will help restore the atmosphere of trust with time.

The agency is continuing to inspect Iran's nuclear facilities in accordance with the agreements the Iranian authorities and IAEA chief Mohamed El Baradei reached during the latter's visit to the country.

Iran's report and inspection results will make the basis of Mr. El Baradei's report to the IAEA Board of Governors at the meeting that will take place in Vienna in June 2004. The "Iranian dossier" will again dominate the board's meeting agenda.

Iran has denied Washington's accusations of attempts at producing nuclear weapons and continued cooperation with the IAEA. The country believes the IAEA's Board of Governors will hopefully close down the "Iranian dossier" at the June meeting and their cooperation will assume a routine character.
