WARSAW, May 22 (RIA Novosti's Leonid Sviridov) - A photo exposition "The Russian Feast" is a hit of the program "Re-opening Russia" at the 49th Warsaw international book fair. Russia is its guest of honor.

The showpieces from the collection of the Moscow Photography House are presented in Warsaw's Traffic Club.

"The Russian Feast" is a tour over Russia covering the period from the 1880s till the present day, director of the program "Russia is the guest of honor at the Warsaw book fair" Nelly Petkova told RIA Novosti.

"At the same time, the exposition features the history of Russian photography. Over 300 cult pictures taken by Karl Bulla, Alexander Grinberg, Alexander Rodchenko, Ivan Shagin, Boris Ignatovich, Arkady Shaikhet, Samary Gurary, Boris Kudoyarov, Viktor Akhlomov, Anatoly Yerin, Viktor Ruikovich, etc. show the evolution of the Russian soul, national character and world outlook remarkably revealing at meals," she added.

According to her, the Russian feast has always been an original indicator of social changes in Russian cultural traditions. The time, lifestyle, manner of photography, and faces changed.

"Dress-up parties at Leo Tolstoi's, friendly tea parties at Vsevolod Meyerkhold's, and official receptions of the Brezhnev times are in the past. However, meals have always erased differences between people and encouraged sociability," Nelly Petkova said.

Russia presents a wide cultural program at the Warsaw international book fair.
