GEORGIA TO HAVE OWN KGB

TBILISI, May 18 (RIA Novosti) - Georgia's Intelligence Department will be converted into a body under the jurisdiction of the State Security Ministry (the USSR's intelligence service was part of the State Security Committee, KGB).

On Tuesday Georgia's parliament has adopted the relative amendments to the law On Intelligence Work at 120 votes for, 5 against.

According to Georgian State Security Minister Zurab Adeishvili, presenting the amendments, a body under his ministry will replace the abolished Intelligence Department, the Novosti-Georgia news agency reports.
