MOSCOW, May 11 (RIA Novosti) - The KPRF (Communists) faction in the State Duma intends to vote against the candidacy of Mikhail Fradkov for the post of Russian Prime Minister at the plenary session of the parliament's lower house on May 12.

"We will vote against Fradkov's candidacy," Communists' leader Gennady Zyuganov said after the faction's session.

Despite the fact that consultations of the acting prime minister with KPRF representatives lasted for more than 2.5 hours on Tuesday, and, in Zyuganov's words, "Fradkov wrote down, commented, voiced his opinion, answering the questions of the faction's members," the Communists decided not to back his candidacy.

The communists' main claim in regard to Fradkov's government was a lack of "clear economic policy." Rodina faction leader Dmitry Rogozin earlier said he intended to vote against Fradkov's candidacy for the post of prime minister too.

The United Russia and LDPR factions are going to support Fradkov's candidacy.

Mikhail Fradkov held meetings with parliamentary factions Tuesday. Except for the meeting with the Rodina faction, all of them were held behind closed doors.
