RUSSIAN INTERIOR MINISTER PUTS UNDER PERSONAL CONTROL PROBING INTO ATTEMPT ON STUDENT'S LIFE

MOSCOW, April 12 (RIA Novosti) - Head of the Russian Interior Ministry Rashid Nurghaliyev put under his personal control the investigation into the attempt on the life of student German Galdetsky, RIA Novosti was told in the press service of the Ministry.

"On the instructions of the minister a special group was set up which included most experienced officers of the Ministry's internal security, criminal investigation department and units for combating organized crime. They were charged to thoroughly study all the circumstances of the case," the press service spokesman said.

On April 10, 2004, student German Galdetsky got a gunshot wound in the head at the Yaroslavsky Railway Station and is in a grave condition in a hospital now. The day before the incident one of Moscow papers published an article in which Galdetsky wrote about rude offences in the system the Interior Ministry's bodies."
