MOSCOW, April 12 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian-Belarussian Union Parliamentary Assembly delegation will participate in the 110th Interparliamentary Union on April 18-24 in Mexico.

Nikolai Cherginets, the head of the parliamentarian delegation and the chairman of the foreign policy commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of Russia and Belarus, told RIA Novosti that four members of parliament from Moscow and Minsk were going to bring up the eastward expansion of NATO and make their position on the United States' leading role clear.

According to Mr. Cherginets, the position of the United States creates difficulties for the whole world. For instance, "when it attacked Iraq, Washington violated a UN resolution," Mr. Cherginets said.

He also mentioned that the Russian-Belarus delegation suggested that the name of Interparliamentary Union of 150 states be changed to the Parliament of the World. "The Parliament of the World would be successful in tackling important international problems, including the fight against terrorism". The Parliamentary Assembly of the Russian-Belarussian Union gained a status of the Interparliamentary Union observer in 2002.
