MOSCOW, April 10 (RIA Novosti) - Chief of the security department of the Moscow government Nikolai Kulikov has suggested that measures to fight youth extremism be toughened.

"I think we should take the toughest possible measures. We have already started to do so," he said in a live interview with the Ekho Moskvy radio station on Saturday.

In his opinion, efforts should be made to discover youngsters naming themselves skinheads, clarify their intentions and prevent their crimes.

Moreover, if a crime has been committed already, investigation should be carried out and the culprit should be punished which can also help prevent such crimes in the future, said Mr. Kulikov.

He also remarked that youth extremism problems discouraged tourists from visiting Moscow.

Mr. Kulikov stressed the need for combating football fans' hooliganism. "We should work to prevent these crimes - this is a matter of the city's prestige," he said.
