FRANKFURT AM MAIN, MARCH 31. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- German Gref, Russian Minister for Economic Development and Trade, believes Germany to be the most consistent partner in Russia's joining the World Trade Organisation.

"Germany is the most consistent partner understanding our problems in joining the World Trade Organisation", Gref said to the RIA Novosti correspondent.

Gref confirmed that Russia's entry into the WTO is the main goal of the country's trade policy in the near future.

"Joining the WTO will help us more efficiently to fight against the limitations which foreign trade partners raise against Russian exports. Losses from such limitations are still too high", he said.

According to Gref, almost 85 percent of tariff positions have been agreed upon with the negotiating partners. Talks with ten states have been completed and are nearing completion with the rest, Gref noted.

Now Russia has entered the final stage of talks. At the same time, the most complex and problematic matters remain to be coordinated. It is impossible without the involved parties' active search for a compromise, he noted.

As regards cooperation with Germany, Gref recalled that, thanks to the FRG, Russia's investment rating has been increased two times one end. "One even out of turn", he said.
