MOSCOW

* A press briefing will take place dedicated to the 5th international conference "Mobile Connection in Russia. Tendencies and Prospects for Deevelopment", which will be held on March 30-31, 2004.

* Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexi II will meet with Russian Minister of Culture and Mass Comminication Alexander Sokolov.

* The Federation Council (the upper house of parliament ) will hold a session on support of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship. The topic of the session is "The Investment Activity of Banks and Other Credit-Financial Institutions with the Support of Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship." Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia Andrei Kozlov, President of the Association of the Russian Banks Garegin Tosunyan and President of the Association of the Regional Banks Alexander Murychev will be among the participants in the session.

* Georgian ambassador in Russia Konstsantin Kemulariya will hold a press conference "The Results of Parliamentary Elections in Georgia. Development of Georgian-Russian Relations."

* Interfax will hold a press-conference with Chairman of the State Duma international affairs committee Konstantin Kosachyov, devoted to the forthcoming NATO and EU expansion.

* The all-Russian conference "Ways to Overcome Xenophobia, Racial Discrimination and Anti-Semitism in Multinational Russia" within the framework of the EU project, will open here today. Among the participants are Chairman of the Russian presidential human rights commission Ella Pamfilova, Russian human rights commissioner Vladimir Lukin, head of the European Commission's mission in Russia Richard Right.

* RIA Novosti will hold a press-conference dedicated to the results of the meeting of the public movement of HIV-positive people "Shagi (Steps)". Among the participants in the press-conference will be representatives of the Russian Ministry of Health and Social Development, international UN agencies and HIV-positive Russians.

* The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts will hold a presentation of the exhibition "The World of Etruscans", which is slated to open on April 26th. The exhibition will be held jointly with the center of support of cultural initiatives of Arezzo (Toscana, Italy).

* Kirovsk district court in Novosibirsk will hold a rehearing of the case concerning export of human bodies and brain preparations to Germany.

BAKU

* The Russian State Duma delegation headed by its speaker Boris Gryzlov will start its official visit to Azerbaijan on March 29-30.

RIGA

* Representatives of the Commission on Monitoring of the Council of Europe are to arrive in Latvia to prepare a report on the expediency of restoring international monitoring of the situation in the country, in particular the position of stateless and Russian-speaking persons.

VILNIUS

* The Vilnius Court is expected to hold rehearing of the case concerning the activity of Chechen separatists' Internet site "Kavkaz-center" in Lithuania.

WASHINGTON D.C.

* The White House will host the ceremony dedicated to seven new states joining NATO. US President George Bush is to meet with heads of government of Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Estonia as well as with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
