GEORGIAN DEFENSE MINISTER TO VISIT MOSCOW NEXT WEEK

TBILISI, March 27, 2004. (RIA Novosti's Marina Kvaratskhelia) - Georgian Defense Minister Gela Bezhuashvili is expected to pay a routine visit to Moscow on March 30.

Mr. Bezhuashvili is to discuss the training of Georgian officers at Russian military schools with his Russian counterpart Sergei Ivanov, spokesperson for the Georgian Defense Ministry Nino Sturua told RIA Novosti.

The agreement on the training of Georgian career officers was reached during President Mikhail Saakashvili's official visit to Moscow on February 10-11.

"Russia has world-class specialists who can help us train air defense and aviation engineers and communications experts," the Georgian President said after his visit to Moscow.
