MOSCOW, MARCH 19 (RIA NOVOSTI) - Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov told reporters Friday that it is the prosecutor's office that is to reveal causes for the Manezh fire. "When legal proceedings are over, I will be informed of the causes for the fire and make them public," said Luzhkov.
Rumors that the damage inflicted by the fire amounts to $100 million do not correspond to reality. This figure has been exaggerated at least three times, added Luzhkov.
It was in the evening of March 14, last Sunday that the Manezh, being an architectural monument, took fire which was quenched only the next morning. Two firemen died in the fire.
