MOSCOW, March 6 (RIA Novosti) - Vladimir Putin congratulated Fazil Iskander on his 75th birthday.
RIA Novosti was told in the Russian president's press service that the congratulatory message reads in part:
"Your art is inseparably linked with the country's life; spiritual threads of different cultures have intertwined in it. Experience, skill and deep knowledge of human characters made it possible for you to raise important moral issues in your books. The readers value you as an attentive observer, ingenious and merry narrator and are always waiting for your new works."
