DINGDEN (Germany), February 21 (RIA Novosti correspondent Alexander Polotsky) - Germany is hosting the first "Russian Language Outside Russia" seminar attended by German teachers of the Russian language and their colleagues, former citizens of the USSR, currently working in many countries throughout Western Europe.

"The International Council of Russian Compatriots heartily welcomes all participants in this seminar which pursues a noble objective - to make the first practical step on the road leading to integration of efforts and development of cooperation between native Russians currently working as teachers of the Russian language in Western Europe," Vitaly Skrinnik, a member of the Council's Board, told the audience at the plenary meeting held at the Clausenhoff Academy.

He pointed out that "the tragic events of the past century scattered us, the Russians, across different countries and continents, but today, as never before, we feel the need for integrating our moral and cultural potential." The seminar has brought together German teachers of the Russian language and their colleagues from the former Soviet Union currently working in German cities of Bremen, Frankfurt-am-Main, Augsburg, Berlin, Carlsruhe, Trier and Cassel, as well as in Austria, Great Britain and Finland.

The seminar was organized by the Eurolog - an Association of youth organizations promoting Russian culture and Russian studies in Europe, the German union of Russian language teachers, and the Clausenhoff Academy in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry for Family and Youth Affairs, Moscow's International Relations Department, and the International Council of Russian Compatriots.

The seminar will close on Sunday, February 22.
