MOSCOW, February 15, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Alexandra Chebanu) -- At its Sunday congress the Party of Russian Regions decided to change the party's name.

The participants unanimously passed the proposal to name the party Rodina, as the bloc of which it is a part.

The delegates were similarly unanimous in their decision to exclude from the party its former co-chairman Sergei Glazyev, who had been officially registered as a presidential candidate for the March 14th elections.

The grounds cited by the congress were Glazyev's numerous violations of the party charter.
