MUNICH, February 7 (RIA Novosti correspondent Alexei Berezin) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov regrets the insufficient development of Russia-NATO military-technical cooperation.

"Unfortunately, today Russia-NATO military-technical cooperation is at the initial stage of its development and is lagging behind the implementation of joint programs in the military-political sphere," Sergei Ivanov said at the 40th Munich security conference. He delivered a report on international security in the context of Russia-NATO relations.

However, the promising trends today are the technological backing of priority programs mentioned in the Basic Act and Rome Declaration, such as theater missile defense, disposal of personnel mines and military equipment, modernization of Soviet armaments adopted in NATO countries and regular participation of Russian experts in the events organized by NATO agencies and committees, Ivanov noted.
