MUNICH, February 7 (RIA Novosti correspondent Alexei Berezin) - The framework agreement on rescuing the crews of submarines in distress "is highly important for the development of Russia-NATO practical cooperation," Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said. On Saturday he delivered a report on international security in the context of Russia-NATO relations at the 40th Munich security conference.

According to Sergei Ivanov, the agreement signed in Munich a year ago may seem purely technical, however, it marked a new practical level of Russia-NATO cooperation.
