AZERI PRESIDENT TO VISIT RUSSIA FEBRUARY 5-7

MOSCOW/BAKU, February 4 (RIA Novosti) - Azeri President Ilkham Aliev will pay an official visit to Russia on February 5-7 on Russian President Vladimir Putin's invitation, said the Kremlin press service.

The heads of state will hold talks and sign a number of bilateral documents, reported the Russian presidential press service and Novruz Mamedov, a chief official at the international ties department of the Azeri presidential staff.

Mamedov called the Moscow declaration the most important document. In his words, it will "renew the spirit of bilateral cooperation in all spheres." Agreements on cooperation in the fight against smuggling and customs regulations' violations and on information protection will be signed. Besides, the Program of Humanitarian Cooperation for 2004-2006 will be approved.

Ilkham Aliev plans to meet with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, State Duma (parliament's lower house) Speaker Boris Gryzlov, Federation Council (parliament's upper house) Chairman Sergei Mironov, Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov and Moscow region governor Boris Gromov.
