LONDON, JANUARY 30 (RIA Novosti corr. Alexander Smotrov) - The BBC has not responded to the Russian Media Minister's statement about the ongoing crisis between the major British broadcaster and the Tony Blair Cabinet.

I'm afraid that at the moment we have nothing to add to what has already been stated on behalf of the British Broadcasting Corporations, a BBC spokesperson told the RIA news agency Friday.

Earlier today, Media Minister Mikhail Lesin expressed concern over the BBC's conflict with the British government. He believes that "serious political pressure" has been brought to bear on the BBC, and is worried this will make the high-profile broadcaster abstain from investigative journalism on Iraq and other issues sensitive to the British government.
