MINSK, January 28, 2004. /RIA Novosti/. Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo calls not to consider western countries Russia's enemies.

On Wednesday Rushailo met with veterans of the Great Patriotic War /1941-1945/ in the State Committee of Belarussian border troops.

The meeting was timed to the 60th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from the Nazi forces.

Veterans raised the issue of the US policy in the post-Soviet space.

"We should not regard western partners as our enemies today," said the Russian Security Council Secretary. He reminded veterans of new common threats, including international terrorism.

Speaking about the situation in Georgia, Vladimir Rushailo said that Russia and the USA have a common goal in Georgia - stability.

Rushailo told veterans about his meeting with head of the Belarussian President's administration Ural Latypov on Wednesday morning. The meeting focused on foreign security, in particular, counter-terrorism and several technical issues on the structures of Russia-Belarus Union.
