MOSCOW, JANUARY 16. /RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT ALEXANDER KOVALEV/ -- The space project Ground Launch will for the first time be financed by a Russian commercial structure.

"Unlike all the previous commercial projects, the Russian financial-commercial structure Energoaviakosmos will make investments", Rosaviakosmos deputy general director Alexander Kuznetsov told reporters during presentation of the project in Moscow.

"We were established together with 45 enterprises of Rosaviakosmos two years ago and are the agency's consolidated representative on the space market", Nikolai Serykh, general director of Energoaviakosmos, specified.

Asked about the cost of the project, Alexander Kuznetsov said that the amount of investments to be additionally invested before the start of Zenit carrier rocket launches will come up to 20-25 million dollars. On the Western market, the project marketing will be done by the Sea Launch Company. "If Russian satellites are launched, the contracts will be concluded by the joint Russian-Ukrainian company International Space Services", Kuznetsov said.

The Sea Launch Co. is registered in California. Its international partners are the corporations Boeing and the Norwegian group Kwarner, the Russian Space Rocketry Concern Energia. Since its establishment in 1995, the company has made 11 successful commercial launches.
