MOSCOW. January 12. /RIA Novosti correspondent/. Corruption is closely associated with various kinds of the abuse of power at all levels, President Vladimir Putin said at the first meeting of the Corruption Combating Council held in the Kremlin.
"Reference here is to actions leading to violation of equality, of rights and freedom in economic activity. As a result, civil rights are violated, normal economic development is obstructed and serious barriers are put up in the way of economic growth," the President said.
"Empty talk, clamor and rush campaigning in this sphere should be left in the past. Effective actions are needed in combating corruption, and mainly in precluding it," Putin said.
