ASTANA, JANUARY 9, RIA NOVOSTI - President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan described integration as an essential necessity nowadays. "We cannot repulse terrorist and extremist challenges unless we do so together," he said at a gala opening of Russia Year in Kazakhstan.
His country is glad to see Russia being a success. It is no longer the Russia it was in 1999. Economic progress has been steadily going on for longer than four years, and Russia's President has called the nation to double the gross domestic product. Russia has developed into a steady, civilised and manageable country during Mr. Putin's presidency, and he owes his high public rating to that.
Kazakhstan is gaining by Russian economic progress, added President Nazarbayev.
