VILNIUS, January 3rd, 2003 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - The Prosecutor General's Office has suggested that Yuri Borisov, main sponsor of the Lithuanian president, leave the country.

Borisov was deprived of Lithuanian citizenship after the Constitutional Court ruled that President Rolandas Paksas's decree to grant Lithuanian citizenship to Borisov was in conflict with the Constitution. According to the law, the head of state has the exclusive right to grant citizenship to foreign citizens.

Borisov can now apply to the Migration Department and get a residence visa.

Yuri Borisov, head of the Avia Baltika holding, was the most generous sponsor of President Rolandas Paksas's election campaign. He allocated 1.2 million Lits (about $400,000) to this end.
