WADA Claims Fancy Bears Hackers Leaked Fake Data on Olympics Athletes
17:06 GMT 20.11.2016 (Updated: 17:07 GMT 20.11.2016) The information on the Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), provided by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), was modified by the Fancy Bears hackers before they leaked it to the web, WADA Medical Director Alan Vernec said Sunday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Since September 13, the Fancy Bears hacking collective leaked at least six batches of WADA confidential medical records, including TUE. The athletes given TUEs include Rafael Nadal, Venus and Serena Williams and four-time Rio Olympics gold medalist Simone Biles, among others.
"WADA Medical Director Alan Vernec confirms to Foundation Board that many of the TUEs leaked by Fancy Bears had been modified," WADA stated via its Twitter account.

According to WADA's press service, Vernec said that only one percent of the 11,303 athletes, taking part in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, had TUEs.
"No evidence of abuse of system," WADA said, citing its medical director.
The WADA Foundation Board meeting, aimed at discussing the future of the world anti-doping system, is taking place in the Scottish city of Glasgow on Sunday.
