Scores of Daesh and al-Nusra Front terrorists have reportedly been killed after the Syrian Army launched major offensives in the key provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Daraa, Deir ez-Zor, Hama, Homs and Idlib.

The Syrian Army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have staged a spate of major military operations all across Syria over the past twenty-four hours, in which dozens of Daesh and Al-Nusra Front militants were killed and many more wounded, according to media reports.

In particular, militants' strongholds were destroyed in the key provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Daraa, Deir ez-Zor, Hama, Homs and Idlib.

In the city of Daraa, the Syrian troops obliterated the militants' fortifications, hideouts and vehicles in the neighborhoods of al-Mahatta and al-Balad, also striking the towns of Rakham and al-Karak in Daraa Province's northeast.

In another development, the army, backed by the Russian and Syrian warplanes, managed to drive the militant groups out of the strategic city of Sheikh Meskeen.

"The Syrian Army and the NDF continued to advance against the militants in Sheikh Meskeen and took full control over the strategic city after killing and wounding scores of terrorists," an army source said.

In the city of Aleppo, Syrian Air Force fighter jets destroyed positions held by Daesh militants in the neighborhoods of al-Rashedin, al-Lairamoun, Bustan al-Bacha, Bani Zaid, Karem al-Maysar and al-Sheikh Said, as well as a number of strategic areas in the eastern part of the province.

Dozens of Daesh terrorists were also killed in Deir ez-Ezor, where the Syrian forces clashed with militants in the village of Baqaliyeh and the al-Rushdiye neighborhood in the city of Deir ez-Zor.

In Damascus, the Syrian Army and the NDF launched an attack on the checkpoints of Al-Nusra Front militants, seizing back one of their main supply lines in Western Ghouta. Additionally, the army cracked down on al-Nusra Front terrorists along a road linking the two strategic cities of al-Moadhamiyah and Darayya.

In a separate development earlier this week, the militants' strongholds based near the town of Tamanna in the south of Idlib Province and in Kafr Zita in the northern part of Hama Province were reportedly massively bombed by Syrian warplanes.

As for Russia's ongoing air campaign in Syria, it was launched on September 30, when more than fifty Russian warplanes, including Su-24M, Su-25 and Su-34 jets, commenced precision airstrikes on Daesh targets in the country at the behest of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

The Russian General Staff said on Monday that combat aircraft from the Russian air group in Syria had carried out 169 sorties in the previous three days, hitting more than 480 terrorist targets.

    It is good to ready daily news. I just wish the people at Sputnik were a little more original than just copying a half of text from previous articles in order to populate the template for the website. Take this as a constructive feedback. I do not read half of what is written as I have read it days and weeks before. Repeating the same stuff for months is annoying and very much unprofessional. It is better to read an article even if it has a single sentence in it that is never published before than to ready daily that;

    - Russia got involved in the war on such and such day
    - that Syria is mired in a civil war
    - that a Russian plane was shut down
    - that Daesh is also known as ABC, Allah snack bar etc
    - that Erdogan is impotent and rather petite in size. :)

    vendor, I read you there...
THERE IS ONE DATE THAT IS NOW INSCRIBED IN THE ROCK OF HISTORY : 30th SEPTEMBER 2015..... the day Russia started its air campaign against IS after having been invited/called in by the Government of Syria.
O.K. you & me, we know that, but there is a possibility that a new-comer is reading and that information, while it appears to be repeated, may be helpful to some other readers. That date is not to be forgotten by the world.... The first reason is because , things cannot be the same again, since that date, and the tide is turning.
    Have a great evening.

A party winning militarily must also winning politically, terrorists won militarily but losing politically so the supporters can't get in to re-supplying the supplies and equipments needed to win the war, that's why they are retreating and could eventually losing the war. Has BushIngclintingobaming declared their long-planned strategic recruitment and partnership with terrorists groups in Syria would have given those terrorists the political leverage to win the war sometimes ago.

armor, I respect the opinion but disagree with you. The new comer you are talking about would come to this website already with some pre-existing knowledge about the global affairs and politics simply because those who do not care or do not know do not come here or on other websites of the similar nature. They stick to TV reality farms, bachelors, or big brothers and that is their limit.
  • Stop the theatrics and with Russian help liquidate some real terror targets like NATO Zionist projects: PYD, PKK, SDF, FSA, KRG Kurds and Kurdish Peshmerga. Meaning, Russia should also liquidate these terror targets, not legitimize them to further Zionist USA NATO projects.

vendor, thanks, I see clearly what you explained and agree.
  • Everyday we see Russian-Syrian advances. Nice job.

Aleppo's the main operative target in this war, now. The preparation could be long, so the first attack will be decisive. Not only it will be very important from a military PoV, but too, should crush the will of the terrorists. I wonder where Erdomuz and Obama will relocate them... Yemen ? Libya ? Occupied Western Europe ?

klod.infobeez, I could be noticed, too, that troops needed for the offensive in Aleppo have first to be freed from other works - means that a few "little" victories in other places have to be achieved in order to free the fighters and regroup for this operations. Hence I look at the cleaning of some throat-cutters infested places as being steps in the global offensive, not only local good news.

armor, NP. I see this constant reinforcement of known info as a typical propaganda or an intention to propagate.

Russia and the Syrian Kurds are getting together no matter the current denial. Good to hear.

Poor vendor you obviously like your goods fresh and unwrapped for daily delivery! alas sometimes that is not possible. I must admit the unusual way of repeating the first paragraph is a bit on the nose. All said Sputnik is doing a great job! keeping the articles fresh and unwrapped. Now getting back to the article ...... Great work SAA and friends your valour will not be forgotten.
