"The militant groups' strongholds in the neighborhoods of al-Lairamoun, Bustan al-Basha, the Old City, al-Jaberiyeh and al-Sheikh Saeed came under attacks of the Syrian Army, which not only left tens of the militants killed or wounded but destroyed their military hardware," FARS quoted the army sources as saying.

The sources added that "scores of the militants were also killed or wounded in the army's offensive near the village of al-Mansoura in the western countryside of Aleppo city."
In the past few weeks, Syrian forces have intensified their attacks on the militants' strongholds in different districts of the city of Aleppo, where the army was successful in pinning terrorists down behind their defensive lines.

In a separate development on Tuesday, the Syrian troops and the NDF targeted militants' strongholds across Aleppo province, including those located near the northeastern town of Tadif. The fighting reportedly left several terrorists dead and some more wounded.

Adding to the army's anti-Daesh effort is Russia's ongoing air campaign in Syria, which was launched on September 30, when more than fifty Russian warplanes, including Su-24M, Su-25 and Su-34 jets, commenced precision airstrikes on Daesh and al-Nusra Front targets at the behest of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

| 0 | Edit | Delete Some readers are asking how much of land has been liberated. I have read recently that in last couple of weeks there were liberated over 1000km2 which does not sound much as I live in Berlin which has 894km2 and it does not seam too much. However in Syria dimensions are different as there is counted only inhabitable land and narrow strips of roads connecting habitats as the rest is desert. That makes this picture absolutely different as all of a sudden these 1000km2 would be more than battle for Berlin, and now we can imagine that this is actually house to house battle and after years of defeat Syrian army thanks to allays support and above all to Russia started to regain lost land. Tully heroic job if we take in account that ISIL has huge amount of modern western military hardware and money, that it has support from USA, NATO and Gulf states. Beside these assets it has access to tens of thousand fanatics from all over the Muslim world.

Against that formidable barbaric army was fighting Syrian army mostly with courage and obsolete military hardware. Now that started to change and to the massive western disappointment there is nothing they can do about. Russia is now guarantor that ISIL terrorists and their western backers led by USA will break their teeth but will get nothing in return. All the best to the heroic Syrian army supported by heroic Hezbollah, NDF, Iran, Iraq and above all Russia. Long live Syrian and its allay fighters against USA oppressor and its servile clowns as EU, NATO, Gulf terrorist states and other from their coalition of terror supporters.
