On April 16, 2015 WikiLeaks released the so-called Sony Archives, containing some 30,000 documents and more than 170,000 e-mails from Sony Pictures Entertainment. The hacked information reveals Sony’s political influence, including alleged ties to the White House, military industrial complex and the policymaking process. In particular, Sony Entertainment Inc. CEO Michael Lynton was asked to pressure Hollywood celebrities, such as George Clooney, Kerry Washington, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Natalie Portman, into promoting foreign policy objectives of the Obama administration.
