Russia recorded 23,218 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, down from 23,543 the day before, bringing the total to 5,561,360, the federal response centre said on Friday.

Johnson & Johnson said that its single-shot coronavirus vaccine neutralises the fast-spreading delta variant and provides durable protection against infection more broadly.
The company said in a statement Thursday that recipients of its vaccine produced strong neutralising antibodies over the course of at least eight months against all variants including delta.
The number of people, who have died of the coronavirus in India, has risen by 853 to 400,312 people within the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said on Friday.
Within the same period of time, the number of confirmed cases has increased by 46,617 to 30,458,251, according to the ministry.
More than 29.54 million people have recovered in India since the start of the outbreak.
