    The global death toll from the coronavirus pandemic is now over 2.45 million, while the total number of infected has reached 110,600,000 cases, according to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

    The US currently tops the list of the most affected countries amid the pandemic with around 28 million infected and over 495,000 deaths. Next, come India (almost 11 million cases, 156,000 deaths) and Brazil (over 10 million cases and 244,000 fatalities).

    Mexico has the third-highest death toll in the world, surpassing India with 178,000 fatalities, while the overall number of cases in the country is around 2 million. At the same time, the worst-hit country in Western Europe is the United Kingdom (over 4.1 million cases, 120,000 deaths), as it is dealing with a mutated coronavirus strain.
